Application to Emergency Services: In emergency situations the interview is an important way to get to the heart of the issue. Put a human face to a disaster.
Putting a human face on disaster is a great way to get people to know who to turn to for information. It also depends on which face you put on it though. Hurricane Katrina was seen as a failure on part of the government. I think that this was in part due to many in the nation hating George W. Bush. Hurricane Sandy saw a government response which took over 6 times longer, but people didn't regard it as a failure because they liked Obama. At least the mainstream media disliked and liked these men respectively.
